Welcome to Lincoln District Runners - Updated 6th February 2024

 

Welcome to Lincoln & District Runners. We are a friendly and social group of runners who meet for runs in Lincoln and the surrounding areas.

 

The club meets twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00pm. Tuesday nights (except the last Tuesday of the month which is our dedicated track night at LSST) are hosted at North Kesteven Leisure Centre, whilst Thursday nights are hosted at a variety of locations in and around Lincoln. During the summer months and lighter evenings we head to many of the beautiful villages around Lincoln to add some trail running to our training.

 

The last Tuesday of each month is Athletics track night, meeting at LSST off Cross O'Cliff road. This is a great opportunity for some speed sessions and to improve your racing performance. There is a nominal fee of £2.00* per member to cover the cost of the track that can be paid on the night, or sessions can be booked and paid in advance via online payment. Information has been emailed to all club members with further details.

 

We endeavour to make our club runs fun and varied, whilst encouraging runners to develop and improve. We offer weekly structured sessions, regular trips aways to the hills, club hosted events, headtorch runs, regular timed sessions, yearly championship challenges, and social events to keep you busy throughout the year. We also encourage members to lead runs and events, and offer substantial discounts for members wishing to persue the Leadership in Running Fitness (LIRF) qualifications.

Club Membership

 

Lincoln & District Runners are keen to welcome runners to our wonderful club.

 

The club offers a free session with the club so you can see how it goes before joining, but please Contact the club beforehand so we know you will be attending. We can also provide further information about what to expect. Please take a look at our Running Schedule to see where we are meeting on a particular club night.

 

LDR endeavour to make the club runs fun and varied, and we regularly regroup during the runs to make sure no-one is left behind. Membership of LDR includes affiliation with England Athletics, members only running events; like our predictor run; lots of variety of structured and social runs, off-road and trail running, fell racing, club social events etc. The club are also involved with a number of local charities, such as our annual food bank run, and our club hosted Christmas Cross Country.

Club Championship 2024

The 2024 LDR Club Championship is now online. This year we have focussed more on LDR events, with points awarded to participating in, and supporting events through the year. For timed events, we will be used the calculated age graded percentage for awarding points from 10 down to 1 (everybody gets at least one point for participating).

 

As usual, the best 10 results count towards the final championship standings, with prizes awarded to the top ladies and men at the annual club awards event.

Club Kit

We are currently in the process of evaluating new club kit so this section will be updated shortly. The aim is to do two kit runs, one every 6 months, whilst also keeping a small amount of stock for new members etc.
